How much do tour guides earn in Pakistan? Working for an operator, a local guide is typically paid PKR 3,500–8,000 per day, and high-route trekking guides PKR 5,000–10,000 — day wages, with the operator keeping the margin on the trip. Hosting directly flips that: the same guide running their own listed trip keeps the whole trip price, minus only the platform's share (0% for your first six months, then 10%).
And it is not only guiding. A home kitchen serving weekend food experiences, a spare room run as a homestay, a 4x4 that works the jeep tracks, an orchard, a campsite by the river — each is a listing. How much can I earn as a tour guide or host in Pakistan?+
You set your own prices, so it depends on what you run. As reference points from the market: local day guides typically charge PKR 3,500–8,000 per day, high-route trekking guides PKR 5,000–10,000, and a host running eight group experiences a month at PKR 3,500 per person with six guests grosses around PKR 168,000 before costs. On Pakistan Locals you keep 100% of bookings for your first six months, then 90%.
Is it free to list on Pakistan Locals?+
Yes. Listing is free, there is no signup fee, and new hosts pay 0% platform commission for their first six months. After that the commission is 10% per booking.
Do I need to be a professional guide to host?+
No formal certification is required for most experience types. You need local knowledge, a passion for sharing, and a commitment to guest safety. For high-altitude mountaineering or certain specialised tours, we do require relevant certifications.
Can women host on Pakistan Locals?+
Yes — and women hosts are in demand, especially from women travellers and families. Home kitchens, city walks and craft experiences are popular women-run formats. You choose your groups, your timings and your terms.
How does the verification process work?+
Submit your CNIC (front and back) through your host dashboard. Our team manually verifies your identity and cross-checks your address within 48 business hours. Some experience types (kitchens, adventure activities) require an additional video audit.
When and how do I get paid?+
Payouts are released every Monday for completed bookings from the previous week. You choose your preferred method: JazzCash, EasyPaisa, or bank transfer (IBAN). There is no minimum payout threshold.
What if a guest cancels or does not show up?+
Each listing has a cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate, or Strict) that you set. If a guest cancels within the policy window, you keep a portion of the booking as a cancellation fee. No-shows are treated as last-minute cancellations.
Do I need good English to host?+
It helps, but it is not required. Most travellers on the platform are Pakistani, and international guests consistently rate warmth and local knowledge above language polish. Be yourself.
Can I list multiple experiences?+
Yes — there is no limit. Many hosts run several listings: a day trek, a jeep day, and a homestay, each with its own calendar, pricing and guest management.
