Born in Chitral, I experienced the unparalleled beauty of Pakistan firsthand. My 5 years working in North American travel and tech made me realize the massive digital gap—and huge potential—for locals back home. I founded Pakistan Locals to bridge that gap and empower our communities.

Local driving notes

  • —Ordinary cars park at Thal; local jeeps run the last 30–45 minutes into the deodar forest. Do not force a sedan up the track.
  • —Book a riverside camp with bedding before you arrive — Kumrat nights are cold in every month.
  • —For Jahaz Banda and Katora Lake, jeeps branch from Thal to Jandrai; it is a separate full day, not an add-on.
  • —Cash only past Timergara, and download offline maps — signal fades after Sheringal.

Rather not drive it yourself?

Local hosts run trips to Kumrat Valley with drivers who do this road every week — transport, stays and the jeep tracks handled, booked direct with the people who live there.
