Skardu is roughly 600 km from Islamabad by road — 12 to 15 hours via the Karakoram Highway and the Jaglot–Skardu road, normally split over two days. The one-hour Islamabad–Skardu flight is the fast alternative when weather allows.

Yes, in high summer (roughly July–September): Islamabad–Naran–Babusar Top–Chilas, joining the KKH before the Jaglot turn-off. It is the most scenic version of the trip.
