Discover the real city
Deosai, the Land of Giants, is a high plateau above 4,000m between Skardu and Astore, open only from late June to October. It is a stronghold of the Himalayan brown bear, carpeted with summer wildflowers and crossed by the deep blue of Sheosar Lake. City Walks here means a rough, rewarding day with a local driver-guide who knows the tracks, the weather and where the wildlife moves. There is no fuel or signal up top, so going with a local host is the safe way to see it.
We are onboarding local hosts here now. If you run experiences in Deosai, list them free and reach travellers already searching.
Roughly late June to mid October, once the snow clears. July and August are the greenest, with wildflowers across the plains.
